Since September 2016 I've taken the fall and winter months, to travel around the globe. Visiting Exotic locations filled with world history and mind blowing nature, volunteering at animal sanctuaries, experiencing rich and foreign cultures in hopes to understand Humankind.
Looking for inspiring stories and inspiring locations while connecting with Mother Earth.
I've taken on this journey to write "Gaia", a feature length, magical realism film. A story of Mother Earth and her struggle to discover the reasons why humans have lost connection with her spirit. A story about love, coming of age and the endless question of how long can Earth sustain this human abuse.
Inspired by the current environmental crisis and the sixth wave of extinctions.
We’re currently experiencing the worst spate of species die-offs since the loss of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Although extinction is a natural phenomenon, it occurs at a natural “background” rate of about one to five species per year.
Scientists estimate we’re now losing species at 1,000 to 10,000 times the background rate, with literally dozens going extinct every day. It could be a scary future indeed, with as many as 30 to 50 percent of all species possibly heading toward extinction by mid-century. The blame for this one, perhaps the fastest in Earth's history, falls firmly on the shoulders of humans.
